Job summary

Knebworth Primary and Nursery School is seeking a compassionate, nurturing individual to join our inspirational staff team. You will provide high standards of academic and social support to the children, in the classroom and during unstructured times, helping them thrive and feel included in our No Outsiders community.

The role is full-time 32.5 hours (08:30–15:30) with potential for five mornings or five afternoons part-time arrangements. GCSE Maths/English at grade C or equivalent is expected.

Qualifications

About the role

This is a full time role for 32.5 hours (08:30 to 15:30) 5 days a week, and will include supporting the lunchtime period for 30 minutes everyday.

However applications will be considered for those candidates wishing to work part time e.g. five mornings or five afternoons a week.

The successful applicant will:

  • Provide a high standard of academic and social support to the children they work with both in the classroom and during unstructured times.

  • Be able to plan, deliver and monitor work to meet the needs of individual pupils.

  • Support the class teacher by undertaking work under their direction.

  • Have a Maths and English GCSE qualification at Grade C or equivalent.

  • Have a good understanding of the KS1/2 curriculum.

  • Possess excellent communication and written skills.

  • Be empathetic and understanding of children’s individual learning needs.

  • Be patient, flexible and have a good sense of humour.

  • Be willing to go the extra mile for the children in their care.

Experience of working within a similar role is desirable but training will be provided for the right candidate as we are passionate about providing opportunities for professional development at all levels.
