Job summary

Milk Education is recruiting an Inclusion & Behaviour Support Assistant to work across primary schools in Leeds. You will support pupils with social, emotional and behavioural needs, helping them engage and thrive in lessons.

The role offers flexible days, ongoing training and development, safeguarding responsibility, and the chance to work with SEND professionals and teachers to implement personalised support plans. An Enhanced DBS is required, or eligibility to apply.

Qualifications

  • Has previous experience working with children or young people in an education, care, youth work or pastoral setting.
  • Has supported pupils with additional needs, including Autism (ASC), ADHD, SEMH or behavioural challenges.
  • Remains calm, patient and consistent when supporting children with differing needs.
  • Can establish positive relationships while maintaining clear expectations and professional boundaries.
  • Is passionate about making a meaningful difference to children's educational and emotional development.
  • Understands safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • Holds an Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service, or is happy to apply for one.

Responsibilities

  • Provide tailored support for pupils with social, emotional and behavioural needs across EYFS, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2.
  • Work flexibly between mainstream classes and the school's inclusion hub, responding to the individual needs of pupils.
  • Develop positive relationships that encourage trust, confidence and emotional regulation.
  • Deliver one-to-one and small group interventions to promote wellbeing, positive behaviour and engagement in learning.
  • Collaborate with teachers, SEND professionals and pastoral staff to implement personalised support plans.
  • Encourage independence, resilience and positive choices throughout the school day.
  • Monitor and record pupil progress, behaviour and intervention outcomes.
  • Help maintain a nurturing, inclusive and safe learning environment where every child can thrive.

Inclusion & Behaviour Support Assistant - Primary School

Your Role

As an Inclusion & Behaviour Support Assistant, you will:
