Job summary

The University of Manchester is seeking a Research Associate with expertise in pre-clinical in vivo cerebrovascular imaging to join the Microvascular@Manchester group.

The post holder will work under senior investigators in the Division of Cardiovascular Sciences and the Geoffrey Jefferson Brain Research Centre, focusing on cerebral blood flow and neurovascular mechanisms in mouse models relevant to dementia.

Qualifications

• Experience with preclinical vascular imaging techniques.
• Experience with behavioural assessment and physiological analysis.
• Strong analytical and experimental skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead in vivo imaging studies to assess pial artery function, vascular calcium signaling and cerebral blood flow in mouse models.
• Perform behavioural assessments, histology, immunohistochemistry and physiological analyses.
• Publish and present results; develop collaborations; contribute to grant applications within The University of Manchester.
