Job summary

Rethink Mental Illness is recruiting a full‑time counsellor at HMP Millsike in East Yorkshire. You will deliver brief 1:1 and group counselling within an integrated mental health team, following Step 2 IAPT guidance and aligning with BACP standards.

Join a multidisciplinary team to support wellbeing, maintain clinical records, and contribute to monthly performance reporting while upholding client confidentiality.

Qualifications

• Diploma in therapeutic counselling or equivalent with professional accreditation (e.g. BACP).
• Post‑qualification counselling experience in an IAPT or stepped‑care setting.
• Knowledge of assessment, screening, risk assessment, and outcome measures (PHQ‑9, GAD‑7).

Responsibilities

• Deliver 1:1 and group counselling for depression and life events.
• Conduct person‑centred assessments and risk assessments.
• Develop, implement, and evaluate therapy plans.
• Use PHQ‑9 and GAD‑7 to monitor progress.
