Job summary

Rethink Mental Illness is seeking a Trainee Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner (PWP) to join the integrated mental health team at HMP Durham. The role supports individuals with mild to moderate anxiety and depression using low‑intensity CBT interventions, with a mix of clinical practice and university study.

You'll spend four days in service and one day at university, working within a multidisciplinary team, delivering guided self-help, maintaining records, and progressing through the PWP

Qualifications

• Degree or diploma in psychology, nursing, social work, or occupational therapy.
• Experience working within mental health settings.
• Commitment to completing the PWP university training programme.
• Full driving license and access to transport.

Responsibilities

• Assessing and supporting people with common mental health difficulties using CBT-based methods.
• Delivering guided self-help and low-intensity CBT-based interventions.
• Managing a caseload and maintaining clinical records.
• Working collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
• Participating in supervision and ongoing professional development.
