Job summary

Dorothy House Hospice Care in England is seeking a Registered Nurse for the In-Patient Unit to provide specialist palliative care. The role is full time (37.5 hours per week) with a mix of earlies, lates and nights, working within a multidisciplinary team.

Active NMC registration and a first level RN are required. The post offers development opportunities, support for end-of-life planning and a focus on compassionate care for patients and families.

Qualifications

• NMC registration with active licence.
• First level Registered Nurse with active registration.
• Experience delivering evidence-based nursing care.
• Medicines management and safe prescribing practices.
• Strong communication with patients and families.
• Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients' physical, emotional, spiritual and social needs and develop individualised care plans with patients and families.
• Deliver and evaluate high-quality nursing care based on evidence.
• Coordinate care from admission to discharge within the multidisciplinary team.
• Support patients and families through complex symptom management and end of life planning.
• Provide professional advice and support through hospice services when required.
• Take charge of the clinical environment and support the nursing team.
• Contribute to clinical audit, quality improvement, education and service development.
• Keep accurate patient records and ensure care meets professional standards and hospice policies.
