Job summary

eNL is recruiting an in-house Solicitor in Newcastle-upon-Tyne, operating on a hybrid basis. The role targets candidates with approximately 2–4 years of PQE who can manage international contract work and provide strategic legal support across the business.

You will review and negotiate contracts, assess risks, and advise on commercial matters while working with stakeholders globally. This is a hands-on role within a respected, environmentally focused engineering consultancy.

Qualifications

• Qualified Solicitor with UK status and approximately 2–4 years' PQE, open to candidates with relevant experience outside this range.
• Strong drafting and negotiation capabilities in a construction/engineering context.
• Experience advising on contracts, risk and commercial matters in a professional services or engineering setting.

Responsibilities

• Review, draft and negotiate contracts and contractual arrangements.
• Advise on legal and commercial risks and support risk management policies.
• Provide advice on assignments, warranties, third-party rights, novations and letters of reliance.
• Support claims administration and debt recovery.
• Provide ad hoc legal advice across the wider business.
• Collaborate with stakeholders and regional management teams.
