Job summary

Notting Hill Genesis is seeking a Paralegal (Litigation) to join its in-house Legal Services team in London. You will handle a varied caseload across housing management litigation, disrepair and enforcement matters, providing practical legal advice to protect the organisation while delivering resident-focused outcomes.

The role involves drafting, court appearances, and collaboration with external solicitors, with opportunities to train colleagues and contribute to improvement projects.

Qualifications

• Law degree, CILEx or equivalent qualification.
• Experience managing your own legal caseload.
• Experience within a legal department, housing association, local authority or similar environment.
• Good knowledge of housing law, leasehold law and Civil Procedure Rules.
• Experience handling litigation, housing management or disrepair matters.
• Excellent legal drafting and report writing skills.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Excellent organisational skills with strong attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently while managing competing priorities.
• Experience using legal databases and Microsoft Office.
• Ability to identify legal risk and provide practical solutions.

Responsibilities

• Manage own caseload covering housing management litigation and possession proceedings.
• Provide specialist legal advice to operational teams on housing disrepair and Protocol claims.
• Prepare witness statements, court bundles, pleadings, reports and correspondence.
• Represent NHG at court hearings, mediation and other external forums.
• Collaborate with external panel solicitors for specialist support.
• Deliver training and guidance to operational colleagues.
• Identify legal risks and provide practical solutions.
• Maintain accurate case records and reporting using case management systems.
• Assist continuous improvement projects within Legal Services.
