Job summary

Working Solutions Recruitment is seeking an experienced In-House Development Manager in Sittingbourne to lead bespoke retail fixtures and prototypes from brief to manufacture, installation and sign-off. The role requires hands-on engineering, joinery, and project leadership within an in-house production environment.

You will coordinate internal teams and external suppliers, drive design-for-manufacture, and expand CNC, 3D printing and in-house capabilities while controlling costs and timelines.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience in in-house production, model-making, shopfitting or bespoke manufacturing.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and practical equipment knowledge.
• Experience drafting SolidWorks drawings and BOMs.
• Knowledge of CNC machining and related production processes.

Responsibilities

• Attend project briefings with Account/Project Management and Design teams.
• Own prototype and fixture projects from concept to installation.
• Coordinate model shop and external partners to meet specs and deadlines.
• Review materials and prepare cost estimates for labour, materials and subcontracted production.
• Lead design-for-manufacture processes for retail fixtures and prototypes.
• Produce technical drawings, compliance packs and data sheets.
• Manage client approvals and ensure regulatory compliance.
