Job summary

BCL Legal In-House is supporting a FTSE 100 UK business as it strengthens its in-house construction team with a 2-8 PQE lawyer. You will move beyond contracting to partner with project teams on large infrastructure programmes, engaging senior stakeholders and delivering high-value advice across the lifecycle of multi-billion projects.

Based in the West Midlands, the role offers hybrid working and a base salary with a substantial bonus potential, car allowance, pension contributions, and family

Qualifications

• Strong experience in non-contentious construction.
• Good working knowledge of NEC contracts.
• Experience advising on major projects or infrastructure programmes.
• Experience of contentious construction or regulated procurement is a plus.
• Commercially minded and pragmatic advice across a complex organisation.
• Confidence to work directly with senior business stakeholders and external counterparties.

Responsibilities

• Advising predominantly on NEC-based construction contracts across major infrastructure programmes.
• Collaborating with major contractors, consultants and supply-chain partners.
• Acting as a genuine legal business partner to project, commercial, procurement and operational teams.
• Providing pragmatic legal advice on complex issues throughout the project lifecycle.
• Advising and reporting to senior stakeholders across the organisation.
