Qualifications

• Qualified solicitor in the UK with four years PQE or equivalent.
• Experience in public sector and defence would be advantageous.
• Experience drafting, reviewing or negotiating commercial agreements; exposure to technology, outsourcing or complex services contracts would be advantageous.
• Sound commercial awareness and ability to understand legal/compliance issues in a wider business context.
• Clear drafting, communication and negotiation skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to prioritise and deliver high-quality work to deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Collaborative, proactive and able to work independently or in a team.

Responsibilities

• Manage a varied portfolio of commercial matters and advise on risk.
• Draft, review and negotiate customer and supplier agreements.
• Support bids and opportunities by advising on contracts and risk allocation.
• Develop relationships with colleagues across sales, commercial and operations.
• Identify legal issues and escalate significant matters as needed.
• Maintain and develop legal standards, policies, playbooks and training materials.
• Support business projects and deliver work to agreed deadlines.
• Share knowledge and contribute to continuous improvement within the Legal team.
