Job summary

Clifton Search is seeking a UK-qualified General Commercial Solicitor to join its high-performing Commercial Legal Team. You will lead on major commercial contracts, manage legal and regulatory risk, and collaborate with senior leaders, procurement, operations and cross-functional teams to drive commercially smart decisions.

The role protects the brand, unlocks opportunities and powers growth in a business built on trust and customer focus.

Qualifications

• UK-qualified solicitor with private practice and/or in-house commercial experience.
• Expert in contract law with strong drafting and negotiation skills.
• Good knowledge of data protection law and information governance.
• Experience with competition and regulatory law is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Manage risk in supplier contracts (non-stock and stock) and significant tenders.
• Draft and negotiate complex commercial contracts (incl. intragroup, logistics, tech, NDAs).
• Support contract lifecycle management from renewals to dispute avoidance.
• Advise on contract structure to support commercial strategy and risk.
• Develop templates, standard terms and playbooks.
