In-House Civil Litigation Lawyer - Up to £64,000

The Role

WJR is exclusively instructed on an In-house Legal Counsel opening to join as the Deputy Head of a Legal Services Department. You will work directly with the Head of the Department on a broad range of issues, including strategic matters to deliver Legal Services.

Your key responsibilities will include:

1. Conducting a varied caseload of civil litigation, defending civil claims, actions against the police
2. Providing legal advice to Senior Management
3. Supervising and managing civil investigations within the team
4. Liaising with key stakeholders including police forces and insurers

The Candidate

• 3+ years PQE as a Solicitor / Barrister with a strong civil litigation background
• Extensive knowledge of defending claims against the Police
• Strong supervisory / managerial experience
• Experience of budgeting and managing insurance policies is desirable
