Job summary

Age UK Lancashire is seeking a Support at Home Worker to visit customers in their own homes in the Lytham St Annes area, delivering practical and emotional support to help older people remain active, independent and connected to their local community.

You will be employed on a flexible zero hours contract with a minimum availability of 16 hours per week, Monday to Friday 9am–5pm, no bank holidays, evenings or weekends. Full training and a supportive team accompany this role.

Qualifications

• Caring and empathetic attitude focused on helping people.
• Ability to lone work / act on own initiative.
• Ability to maintain professional boundaries.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Digital skills including emails and using a smartphone.
• Valid driving licence and use of a car for business use.

Responsibilities

• Deliver a high quality, punctual, reliable service to customers in their own homes.
• Undertake range of tasks as required by the customer (cleaning, laundry, shopping, prescriptions).
• Provide companionship, social activities and respite for carers.
• Establish and maintain professional relationships with customers, families and carers.
• Grow your local customer base with the coordinator and provide holiday cover when available.
• Handle cash for customers shopping in line with procedure.
