Job summary

Age UK Lancashire is seeking a Support at Home Worker to visit customers in their own homes across Lancaster and Morecambe. You will provide practical support such as cleaning, shopping, laundry and companionship, helping older people stay independent and connected.

We offer flexible hours, a minimum 16 hours per week on a zero-hours contract, with potential for more hours. A driving licence and use of a car are required to travel between clients, with training and support provided.

Qualifications

• Caring and empathetic attitude toward older people.
• Ability to work independently and manage own schedule.
• Ability to maintain professional boundaries with clients.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Digital literacy including use of smartphone and emails.
• Physical ability to carry out home tasks (e.g., cleaning, shopping).
• Valid driving licence and access to a car for work.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high quality, punctual home visits to customers.
• Assist with household tasks such as cleaning, laundry, shopping.
• Provide companionship and support for carers and clients.
• Build professional relationships with customers and families.
• Support local customer base development and holiday cover as needed.
• Handle customer payments for shopping in line with procedures.
