Job summary

Edgbarrow School is seeking a Learning Support Assistant to provide in-class support and general assistance to the SENCO. The role covers 4 days per week, assisting students aged 11–18 under the guidance of the class teacher.

Experience with the English curriculum is helpful; strong numeracy and literacy skills are essential. This post is a fixed-term, part-time position with a start date in November 2026.

Qualifications

• Good numeracy and literacy skills.
• Experience working with or caring for children aged 11–18.
• Experience/qualification in English curriculum would be an advantage.
• DFE Teacher Assistant Induction would be an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Provide general support to SENCO.
• Deliver in-class support to individual or small groups.
• Support students to develop and achieve their potential under the teacher's direction.
