Job summary

Tesco Insurance and Money Services is launching a two-year engineering development scheme designed to grow future leaders. You will rotate across software development, systems engineering and test engineering to build a broad skillset and support customer and colleague experiences.

The programme starts on 6 September 2027 and offers hybrid office attendance, with two days on site at our Edinburgh campus. You'll work with experienced engineers to design, build, test, and support applications and

Responsibilities

• Contribute to design, development, testing and maintenance of applications and cloud-based infrastructure.

• Work across engineering projects, delivering at pace and scale to customers.

Job description

With exposure to the latest technologies, you’ll spend this 2-year scheme developing skills that will support you to become one of our future engineering leaders. You will join a dynamic technology team focused on designing, building, testing, and supporting applications and systems that underpin customer and colleague experiences. This role offers exposure across software development, systems engineering and test engineering to give you the opportunity to develop a broad engineering skillset. You will work closely with experienced engineers to deliver reliable, secure, and efficient solutions to serve our customers and colleagues. You will develop a broad technical skillset while building your engineering career in a collaborative environment Salary: £34,000 Programme start date: 6 September 2027 Office Attendance - Our roles are hybrid; however, you should be able to travel to our office, 2 days per week for this position.

Contributing to the design, development, testing and maintenance of both applications and cloud based infrastructure Supporting infrastructure, systems monitoring, incident management, and day-to-day operational activities across the technology landscape Working on modern, scalable and best in class cross platform technologies Performing functional and non functional testing for change initiatives to deliver robust technology solutions for our customers Working on all elements of engineering projects and delivering at pace and scale to our customers

• A stong interest in how technology works at an enterprise level

• You don’t need a Computer Science degree, but you will need some coding experience, whether from work, personal projects or self-teaching, along with a passion for solving problems.
