Job summary

North West Ambulance Service NHS Trust is seeking an enthusiastic Improvement Support Officer to turn strategic ideas into practical improvements across the Trust. You will coordinate activity, support planning and evaluation, and create clear reports and communications for a range of audiences.

Working with Improvement Managers, you will engage colleagues, coach teams, and monitor progress while traveling to multiple NWAS locations to deliver ambitious change across the North West.

Qualifications

  • Degree or equivalent experience in a relevant area.
  • Experience coordinating meetings, workshops, events or learning activities with multiple stakeholders.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships across teams.
  • Experience in data collection, measurement and reporting.
  • Experience within the NHS or public sector is desirable.

At North West Ambulance Service (NWAS), our purpose is to help people when they need us most by delivering the right care, at the right time, in the right place, every time. We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated Improvement Support Officer to help turn this purpose into meaningful improvement across the Trust.

This is an opportunity to develop your improvement expertise while supporting the planning, delivery and evaluation of programmes, events and initiatives across the North West.

Working closely with Improvement Managers, operational and corporate teams, and leaders across NWAS, you will be a key coordination point for improvement activity. You will engage with colleagues across NWAS, support coaching and teaching, coordinate programme documentation and actions, monitor progress, and create clear reports, briefings and communications for a range of audiences.

Main duties of the job

You will join a supportive Improvement Team committed to learning, collaboration and professional development, with opportunities to build your skills and contribute to meaningful change across NWAS.

You will be organised, adaptable and proactive, with experience of coordinating activities, producing clear written and visual information, and building effective relationships with a wide range of stakeholders. You will be confident balancing competing priorities, presenting information clearly and creatively, and working collaboratively to support improvement across the Trust.

The role requires regular travel to NWAS locations across the North West.

Working for our organisation

North West Ambulance Service NHS Trust provides 24 hour, 365 days a year accident and emergency services to those in need of emergency medical treatment and transport.

Our highly skilled staff provide life-saving care to patients in the community and take people to hospital or a place of care if needed.
We also provide non-emergency patient transport services for those patients who require non-emergency transport to and from hospital and who are unable to travel unaided because of their medical condition or clinical need.

Alongside the other emergency services, we also work to ensure the safety of the public and treatment of patients in the event of a major incident.

We also deliver the NHS 111 service in the North West. NHS 111 replaced NHS Direct in 2013. This service was introduced to make it easier for people to access local NHS healthcare services in England. It provides non-emergency medical help fast, and is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent experience in a relevant area.
