Job summary

White Recruitment is recruiting an experienced Import & Export Coordinator for Portsmouth to join a friendly freight forwarding team. The role covers a 50:50 split between import customs clearance and freight forwarding, handling bookings to final delivery across sea and air freight.

You will manage shipments, process CDS import entries, liaise with customers and suppliers, and ensure deadlines are met. The package includes a pension, free on-site parking and a supportive environment.

Qualifications

• 2+ years’ experience in freight forwarding, ideally with import operations and customs.
• Hands-on experience with CDS and import customs entries.
• Experience handling sea and/or air freight.
• Good understanding of the import process from clearance through to delivery.
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• A proactive, can-do approach and the ability to work to deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Managing import shipments from booking through to delivery
• Completing and processing import customs entries via CDS
• Coordinating sea and air freight movements
• Arranging collections and deliveries
• Liaising with customers, hauliers, shipping lines and other suppliers
• Tracking shipments and keeping customers updated
• Preparing and checking shipping and customs documentation
• Handling queries and resolving any issues that arise
• Ensuring shipments are processed accurately and within deadlines
