About This Job

To install, upgrade, configure, troubleshoot and support Emis software applications, tools and interfaces working with internal colleagues and customer representatives both remotely and on site as required. This work will often involve data migration and synchronization working with very sensitive data.

The role involves a degree of autonomous working according to priorities assigned by the Technical Services Manager. This work will be in the context of a 20+ person Solution Delivery department where varying technologies are employed. Much of the work will be in coordination with staff from other departments such as support, product specialists, and Project Managers, as well as customer staff.

To manage and work within a project team to complete tasks as detailed within the project plan. To develop and maintain relationships with end users and to be the main point of contact for users during the implementation phase of a project.

Responsibilities
  • Installation, upgrade and configuration according to published work instructions and standards of EMIS Health applications, tools and interfaces.
  • Setup & testing of EMIS Health software products, tools, interfaces and supporting applications.
  • Manage, define and deliver the local customization of the software (within project scope).
  • Ownership of the implementation of the end-to-end project lifecycle.
  • Support customers and EMIS Health colleagues in UAT, installation and issue resolution during the project life cycle.
  • Act as the primary technical lead and authority during a project lifecycle.
  • Develop significant expertise in EMIS health applications, tools and interfaces to better understand customer issues and assess, test and implement solutions.
  • Participate in internal testing and process improvement workshops.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
  • Understanding and troubleshooting SQL scripts; Informix experience is preferable.
  • Ability to write SQL scripts for data migration/validation.
  • Minimum of 24 months experience in HPUX & Linux environments.
  • Understanding network interfacing, including TCP/IP and HL7 standards.
  • Knowledge of HPUX & Linux OS, security, resilience, disaster recovery, and shell scripting.
  • Strong organizational, documentation, stakeholder management, and communication skills.
  • Ability to understand complex technical requirements and communicate effectively with less technical teams.
  • Problem-solving skills and ability to work confidently on-site and in project teams.
  • Issue ownership and prioritization aligned with company procedures.
