Job summary

Randstad CPE, on behalf of an international infrastructure group, is seeking a Temporary Works Design Engineer in Derby to deliver high-quality temporary works designs for major projects. You will review briefs, manage workload for CAD staff, and perform complex calculations.

The role offers a 12-month contract or longer, hybrid working, and a daily rate of £480 umbrella. The candidate should have an engineering degree, strong numerical skills, and proficiency in Excel and design software.

Qualifications

• Degree in engineering with extensive experience.
• Strong numerical capability and proficiency in Excel.
• Excellent communication and report writing skills.

Responsibilities

• Reviewing temporary works design briefs and managing workload for CAD Engineers, Technicians, or Operators.
• Undertaking both repetitive and complex structural engineering and geotechnical calculations.
• Verifying and delivering temporary works designs to time and budget constraints.
• Providing expert technical support and contributing to workshops to identify innovative solutions.
• Ensuring design risks are considered and assisting with CDM compliance through audits.
