Job summary

John Taylor Multi-Academy Trust (JTMAT) is seeking enthusiastic Teaching Assistants to support schools across Burton-on-Trent. You will assist teachers, provide targeted support to pupils, and help create a positive learning atmosphere that encourages participation and growth.

Experience with children is desirable, and Enhanced DBS via Update Service or willingness to apply is required. This role offers flexible opportunities and weekly PAYE payments, with dedicated support from a Partnership

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or young people in an educational setting.
• Enhanced DBS registration on Update Service or willingness to apply.
• Ability to communicate effectively with pupils and staff.
• Patience, empathy and adaptability to individual needs.
• Positive attitude and commitment to supporting learning and development.

Responsibilities

• Supporting teachers in delivering engaging and effective lessons.
• Providing one-to-one and small-group support to pupils.
• Assisting pupils with classroom activities and participation.
• Supporting pupils' academic, social, and emotional development.
• Helping manage classroom behaviour and learning habits.
• Preparing classroom resources and learning activities.
• Supporting pupils with additional learning needs where required.
• Promoting a safe, inclusive learning environment.
• Communicating progress and concerns with the team.
