Job summary

Provit Recruitment presents a Teaching Assistant role within an Alternative Provision / Specialist Education setting in the Midlands. The position is full-time during term time with training days, offering a salary ranging from £22,000 to £33,000 per annum depending on experience.

You will work closely with teaching staff to support learners academically, emotionally, and socially, both inside and outside the classroom, contributing to a calm, structured learning environment.

Qualifications

• Essential: Teaching Assistant qualification.
• Experience working within schools or educational settings.
• Experience supporting young people with behavioural, emotional, SEND, or additional learning needs.
• Strong ability to break down barriers.

Responsibilities

• Support learners on a 1:1 basis and in small groups.
• Promote engagement, attendance, and positive behaviour.
• Support emotional regulation and pastoral wellbeing.
• Assist with classroom delivery and learning activities.
• Help create a calm, inclusive, and structured environment.
• Support educational visits and enrichment activities.
• Maintain safeguarding and learner welfare standards.
• Build positive, consistent relationships with young people.
