Job summary

Prospero Teaching is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant for schools across Middlesbrough. The role involves supporting students aged 11-19 across KS3-KS5, aiding teachers in delivering lessons, and providing tailored 1:1 academic and pastoral support.

The position runs 8:30am–3:30pm, Monday to Friday, with a view to permanency. Previous school-based experience and a relevant qualification are desirable, along with DBS checks and right to work in the UK.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in school, education, childcare, youth work or support-based setting is desirable.
• Teaching Assistant or Supporting Teaching & Learning qualification preferred but not essential.
• Confident supporting students 1:1 and in small groups.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.

Responsibilities

• Support students aged 11-19 across year groups within KS3-KS5 as needed.
• Assist teachers in delivering engaging and effective lessons.
• Provide tailored academic and pastoral support on a 1:1 basis.
