Job summary

NHS Jobs is seeking a Speech & Language Therapy Assistant to work with our SEND Therapies team in Essex, delivering regular therapy programmes under the guidance of qualified therapists. You’ll support children individually and in small groups, while helping education professionals and parents to apply communication strategies.

You will contribute to planning, recording and resource development, and participate in supervision and CPD to ensure high-quality practice and service development.

Qualifications

• GCSE Grade 4/C in English and Maths.
• NVQ qualification in a relevant field.
• Minimum two years' experience working with children.
• Excellent spoken and written communication skills.
• Strong organisational and IT skills.

Responsibilities

• Deliver regular speech and language intervention programmes following aims and objectives set by qualified Speech & Language Therapists.
• Support Team Around the Child, including educational professionals and carers.
• Develop resources and maintain electronic records, and schedule visits across educational settings.
• Share best practice and support audit and service development.
• Participate in supervision, appraisal and continuing professional development activities.
