Job summary

Prospero Teaching seeks a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant for a long-term role in the BR2 area. You will provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with SEND, assisting the teacher to deliver engaging lessons and support academic, social, and emotional development.

The role requires a patient, resilient communicator with a passion for SEND. Experience is preferred and an Enhanced DBS is expected or willingness to obtain one. This is a genuine opportunity to make a lasting impact.

Qualifications

• Patient, caring and resilient approach.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs.
• Understanding of Autism, ADHD, SEMH or other SEND needs (desirable).
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
• Previous experience working with children, ideally within a school or SEND setting.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEND.
• Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons.
• Support students with their academic, social, and emotional development.
• Implement individual learning and behaviour plans.
• Promote a positive, safe, and nurturing learning environment.
• Encourage independence and confidence in pupils.
