Job summary

Derwen College in Ludlow is seeking a full-time Learning Support Practitioner to join our Ludlow team. You will enable our students to transform their lives by helping them to attain their aspirations—promoting independence, developing life, work and personal care skills, during college life and the work place in line with student aspirations and outcomes.

Qualifications

• Assist students to transform their lives by helping them attain aspirations and independence.
• Promote life, work and personal care skills for college life and work placements.
• Support safeguarding and promote welfare of vulnerable young adults.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver small group sessions linked to the curriculum.
• Maintain a clean, safe learning environment and resources.
• Support students with personal care, daily life skills, and mobility needs.
• Assist during mealtimes and support independent eating where appropriate.
• Assist with medication administration with training where needed.
• Contribute to assessment reports, learning plans, and progress reporting.
• Develop and use engaging teaching resources including ICT.
• Adhere to Health & Safety and Food Safety policies and risk assessments.
