Job summary

Atlas Academy in Doncaster is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join our primary team on a permanent basis. The role offers 37 hours per week during term-time (39 weeks per year) with a pro rata salary.

Start date is as soon as possible, and the post is based at Atlas Academy, a central Doncaster primary school within the Astrea Trust. You will support pupils, act as a Key Worker for specific children, and contribute to learning plans and inclusive activities, helping raise standards

Qualifications

• Experience working with primary-aged pupils, including those with SEND.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Commitment to safeguarding and inclusive values.

Responsibilities

• Provide high standard of physical, emotional, social and intellectual care for pupils.
• Act as the Key Worker for specific children.
• Support staff and facilitate participation of pupils in activities.
• Contribute to raising standards of achievement for all children.
• Assist with the class teachers in developing Learning Plans / My Plans / EHCPs.
• Implement and support daily routines of pupils.
• Plan and implement activities suitable to each pupil’s development.
• Contribute to a high-quality learning environment meeting individual and collective needs.
• Liaise with and support parents and family members as directed by the teacher.
• Provide intimate care to pupils with complex needs when required.
