Job summary

Oasis Academy Lister Park is seeking a Learning Support Assistant to deliver personalised SEN provision on a 1:1 basis and help pupils access the curriculum at an appropriate level. You will adapt learning activities, provide pastoral support, monitor progress and feed back to the class teacher, working closely with staff to help individuals reach their full potential.

Qualifications

NVQ Level 3 or equivalent as a minimum.
GCSE English and Maths at C grade or above.
Experience of supporting pupils with SEN and using strategies to manage behaviours.
Awareness of Child Safeguarding and SEN policies to implement effective provision.
Ability to effectively communicate on the pupil’s progress, with strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

Provide personalised SEN provision on a 1:1 basis.
Support the pupil in accessing the curriculum at an appropriate level.
Adapt learning to make it accessible for students with specific needs.
Monitor progress and feed back to the class teacher; work closely with staff to ensure the pupil achieves.
Collaborate with outside agencies to deliver EHCP provisions where needed.
