Job summary

Oasis Academy Lister Park is seeking a Learning Support Assistant to deliver personalised SEN provision on a 1:1 basis and help pupils access the curriculum at an appropriate level. You will adapt learning activities, provide pastoral support, monitor progress and feed back to the class teacher, working closely with staff to help individuals reach their full potential.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent as a minimum.
• GCSE English and Maths at C grade or above.
• Experience of supporting pupils with SEN and using strategies to manage behaviours.
• Awareness of Child Safeguarding and SEN policies to implement effective provision.
• Ability to effectively communicate on the pupil’s progress, with strong written and verbal communication skills.

Job Overview

As a Learning Support Assistant, you’ll provide personalised SEN provision on a 1:1 basis, supporting the pupil in accessing the curriculum at an appropriate level and adapting the learning to make it accessible for students with specific needs. This role also involves providing pastoral support, and you’ll monitor progress to feed back to the class teacher whilst working closely with relevant staff to ensure an individual can achieve to the fullest extent.

Job Requirements

• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent as a minimum
• GCSE English and Maths at C grade or above
• Experience of supporting pupils with SEN and utilising strategies to manage behaviours and meet needs, including supporting speech and language
• Awareness of Child Safeguarding and the latest SEN policies to implement effective provision, including working with outside agencies to deliver EHCP provisions
• Ability to effectively communicate on the pupil’s progress, with strong written and verbal communication skills
