Qualifications

• Experience as Teaching Assistant or similar roles supporting SEMH needs.
• Experience with challenging behaviour and safeguarding understanding.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Resilience, patience and proactive approach in difficult environments.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils with SEMH needs, behavioural challenges and learning needs.
• Provide 1:1 and small-group support and help pupils engage with learning.
• Assist teachers with delivering engaging, differentiated lessons.
• Apply positive behaviour management and de-escalation strategies.
• Build trusting relationships with pupils with past educational difficulties.
• Promote emotional regulation, confidence and independent learning.
• Collaborate with staff to support individual plans and behaviours.
• Maintain a safe, inclusive learning environment.
