Job summary

Compass Community Schools in Milton Keynes is seeking an enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to support learning for children with SEMH and SEND, including 1:1 and small groups, under the guidance of teachers. You will work with children across activities, helping with task instructions and ensuring a calm, supportive learning environment.

You will contribute to a safe, engaging classroom, assist with trips, displays and resources, and participate in therapeutic training to help children progress

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children with SEMH/SEND and challenging behaviours.
• Good basic English and Maths.
• Willingness to participate in therapeutic training.

Responsibilities

• Support teaching and learning in classrooms.
• Work with children 1:1 or in small groups.
• Manage classroom resources and displays.
• Take children on educational trips and visits.
• Keep children safe during heightened behaviours with strong behaviour management.
• Create engaging displays to support learning.
