Job summary

TeacherActive is seeking a dedicated Secondary SEMH Teacher to work full-time in a specialist education setting in Basildon. You will plan and deliver engaging lessons tailored to pupils with SEMH needs, building strong relationships and maintaining a safe, structured learning environment.

Qualifications

• Must have QTS/QTLS or equivalent teaching experience.
• Experience in secondary schools, SEND provision, PRU or alternative provision.
• Experience supporting pupils with SEMH needs preferred.
• Strong classroom management and behaviour strategies.
• Patient, resilient and adaptable with excellent communication.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging lessons adapted to each pupil’s needs and abilities.
• Build positive, trusting relationships with students and maintain clear boundaries.
• Collaborate with teaching assistants, SEND professionals and the school team to provide appropriate support.
• Ensure safeguarding and welfare of young people is a priority.
