Job summary

The Education Network is seeking a Behaviour Mentor for an SEMH school in Walsall with an immediate start. You will provide 1-2-1 mentoring and in-class support to pupils with SEMH needs, helping them regulate emotions and engage with learning.

Working with teachers and pastoral staff, you will build trusting relationships, monitor behaviour and support students to re-engage with school life. Previous SEMH or challenging behavior experience is essential; TA/mentor/youth worker experience is

Qualifications

• Experience supporting students with SEMH needs.
• Ability to build positive relationships with young people.
• Experience as a TA, mentor, youth worker or residential support would be beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Providing 1-2-1 and small group mentoring for students with SEMH needs.
• Supporting pupils with challenging behaviour in lessons and around the school.
• Building strong and trusting relationships with young people.
• Supporting emotional regulation and behaviour management strategies.
• Helping students re-engage with learning and school life.
• Working closely with teachers, pastoral teams and external agencies.
• Acting as a positive role model for students.
• Monitoring and reporting on behaviour, wellbeing and progress.
