Job summary

GSL Education is seeking a dedicated Behaviour Support Assistant to work with secondary schools in Leicestershire. You will help students with behavioural, emotional, or social challenges, supporting them to stay engaged and progress in learning.

You will de-escalate incidents, promote positive behaviour, and collaborate with teachers and staff to maintain an inclusive classroom. A DBS certificate is required or willingness to apply; right to work in the UK is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience with young people, especially those with behavioural needs.
• DBS certificate or willingness to apply for one.
• Patience, resilience and strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Support students who face behavioural, emotional or social difficulties.
• De-escalate situations and promote positive behaviour.
• Provide one-on-one or small-group support to help students stay engaged in learning.
• Work closely with teachers and support staff to create an inclusive learning environment.
