Job summary

Teaching Personnel is seeking a supportive Secondary Teaching Assistant to work in one of our partner secondary schools on a full-time, temporary basis. This role focuses on helping pupils across the secondary curriculum, supporting learning and behaviour in classroom environments.

The ideal candidate will have school-based experience, a patient, proactive approach, strong communication and teamwork skills, and an understanding of safeguarding. Training in safeguarding is provided.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or young people (school-based experience desirable).
• A positive, patient, and proactive approach.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Reliable, flexible, and committed to supporting learning.
• An understanding of safeguarding and child protection (training provided).

Responsibilities

• Support teachers in delivering engaging lessons across the secondary curriculum.
• Work with individuals and small groups to support learning and progress.
• Assist with classroom management and behaviour support.
• Help create a positive, inclusive learning environment.
• Support pupils with additional needs where required.
