Job summary

Randstad Education is seeking a motivated Secondary Teaching Assistant to support students across Key Stage 3 and 4 in local secondary schools. This full-time, long-term role offers competitive daily rates (£92.56–£95) and Friday payments, with term-time only scheduling.

You will provide subject support, assist with pastoral care, and help students develop resilience and study skills. Immediate start available for the next term, with enhanced DBS required.

Qualifications

Your Role as an Educational Mentor

As a Secondary Teaching Assistant, you aren't just an extra pair of hands; you are a vital link between the student and the curriculum.

• Targeted Interventions: Lead small "breakout" groups or 1:1 sessions for students who need extra support with literacy, numeracy, or specific subject coursework.
• In-Class Support: Work alongside subject teachers to manage classroom dynamics, ensuring that students with additional needs (SEND) can access the lesson.
• Pastoral Care: Assist with emotional regulation and social skills, helping students navigate the complexities of secondary school life.
• Exam Access Support: Act as a reader or scribe for students during mock exams and assessments to ensure they can demonstrate their full potential.
