Ribbons & Reeves are recruiting a Cover Supervisor for a thriving secondary school in Braintree. The role starts September 2026, is full-time and long-term, with responsibilities across supervision, delivering pre-prepared lessons and maintaining classroom focus.

You will support learning, manage behaviour in line with school policy and contribute to a positive, inclusive school culture. The ideal candidate holds a 1st‑class or 2:1 degree and has experience with secondary students.

Qualifications

• Must hold a 1st-Class or 2:1 in their relevant degree.
• Experience working with secondary-aged students is essential.
• Confident, capable of managing a classroom and delivering pre-prepared lessons.
• Reliable, adaptable and able to maintain a calm learning environment.

Responsibilities

• Supervise classes in the absence of their regular teacher
• Deliver pre-prepared lessons and keep students engaged
• Manage classroom behaviour according to the school policy
• Support students with learning and encourage participation
• Build positive relationships with students and staff
• Provide feedback to teachers on engagement and behaviour
• Contribute to the wider school community and uphold its values
