Academics Ltd is assisting a Medway school in recruiting an organised and proactive Attendance Officer for a full-time role based on site. The role focuses on monitoring attendance, liaising with parents, and supporting staff to improve punctuality and engagement.

The successful candidate will handle confidential information professionally, have prior school/admin experience and be DBS checked or willing to obtain one.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a school or administrative setting.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• A confident and approachable manner when speaking with parents and carers.
• Experience using attendance systems such as SIMS or similar.
• The ability to handle confidential information professionally.
• An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).

Responsabilités

• Monitor daily attendance and punctuality records.
• Contact parents and carers to follow up on unexplained absences.
• Investigate attendance concerns and escalate where necessary.
• Work alongside teaching staff and external agencies to support students.
• Maintain accurate attendance records and produce reports.
• Help implement strategies to improve attendance and punctuality.
