Job summary

Ribbons & Reeves is seeking a Learning Mentor to support pupils in a PRU in Islington. The role focuses on SEMH, behaviour and academic progress, with 1:1 and small-group support, under guidance from teachers and pastoral staff.

You will help pupils re-engage with learning, build positive study habits and develop confidence in classroom settings, while maintaining a calm and supportive presence throughout the day.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting young people with SEMH and behavioural needs.
• Patience, resilience and clear boundaries under pressure.
• Ability to build trust and support pupils to re-engage with learning.

Responsibilities

• Providing 1:1 and small-group learning support
• Supporting pupils with SEMH, behavioural and additional learning needs
• Helping pupils re-engage with education and develop positive learning habits
• Building strong, consistent relationships with young people
• Supporting pupils with literacy, numeracy and classroom learning
• Helping pupils manage barriers to learning, confidence and motivation
• Working alongside teachers and pastoral staff to support individual pupils
• Encouraging independence, resilience and positive behaviour
• Supporting pupils to work towards their academic, behavioural and personal targets
• Providing a calm, consistent and positive presence throughout the school day
