Gherson Solicitors LLP in London is seeking an immigration solicitor to join our Immigration team. You will manage your own private client caseload, deliver high quality legal advice, and contribute to the continued growth of the practice.

This role is fully office-based. The ideal candidate has 1–3 years PQE in immigration law, strong drafting and case management skills, excellent communication, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Qualifications

• Qualified Solicitor with 1-3 years’ PQE, including in immigration law.
• Experience advising on a range of immigration and nationality matters, including visa applications, settlement and citizenship applications.
• Strong drafting and case management skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent client care and interpersonal skills.
• Commercial awareness and a proactive approach to work.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively as part of a team.

Responsabilités

• Manage a varied caseload of private client immigration matters from instruction through to completion.
• Advise clients on a range of immigration and nationality applications and procedures.
• Ensure all matters are progressed efficiently and in accordance with client expectations and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date file records and case management systems.
• Prepare and submit high-quality immigration and nationality applications.
• Draft application forms, legal representations, supporting statements and correspondence.
• Prepare document bundles and supporting evidence in line with Home Office requirements.
• Conduct legal research where required and keep up to date with developments in immigration law.
• Conduct client meetings and consultations, both remotely and in person.
• Attend meetings with clients, colleagues and external stakeholders as required.
• Maintain accurate attendance notes and records of advice provided.
• Support the firm’s business development and marketing activities.
• Attend networking events and contribute to articles, publications and other promotional initiatives.
• Develop and maintain professional relationships with referrers and other stakeholders.
• Ensure files are managed in accordance with regulatory and professional obligations.
• Participate in training and development activities as required.
• Support the development and mentoring of junior team members where appropriate.
• Take responsibility for ongoing professional development and continuous learning.
