Job summary

St Giles Trust is seeking a passionate Trainer Assessor to join our Justice team at HMP Dovegate, delivering training, assessment and learner support that helps people in custody gain accredited qualifications and progress toward employment on release.

The role involves developing accredited programmes, supporting learners with complex needs, and working with staff and partners to create progression opportunities. DBS check and Vetting will apply.

Qualifications

• Experience assessing vocational qualifications and supporting adults facing disadvantage.
• Experience of working to targets and monitoring learner outcomes.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging training and assessment to support learners to achieve vocational qualifications and develop transferable skills.
• Support individuals with multiple and complex needs to achieve their learning goals and build confidence.
• Develop assessment plans, review progress and provide constructive feedback.
• Maintain accurate learner records and portfolios in line with quality assurance requirements.
• Work collaboratively with prison staff, employers, employment hubs and external partners to create progression opportunities for learners.
• Contribute to quality improvement activities, inspections and the ongoing development of training provision.
