Job summary

St Giles Trust is seeking a passionate Trainer Assessor for the Justice team at HMP Dovegate. You will deliver high-quality training and assessment, helping learners gain qualifications and improve employability while supporting individuals with complex needs.

You will develop plans, review progress, provide feedback and maintain learner records, collaborating with prison staff and external partners to create progression opportunities and drive continuous quality improvement.

Qualifications

• Experience assessing vocational qualifications and supporting adults facing disadvantage.
• Experience of working to targets and monitoring learner outcomes.
• Level 3 Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement (or equivalent assessor qualification).
• A teaching qualification or relevant training experience.
• An understanding of the barriers people face when accessing training and employment, and how these can be overcome.
• Strong communication, organisational and IT skills.
• The ability to motivate and support learners with complex needs to achieve their potential.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging training and assessment to support learners to achieve vocational qualifications and develop transferable skills.
• Support individuals with multiple and complex needs to achieve their learning goals and build confidence.
• Develop assessment plans, review progress and provide constructive feedback.
• Maintain accurate learner records and portfolios in line with quality assurance requirements.
• Work collaboratively with prison staff, employers, employment hubs and external partners to create progression opportunities for learners.
• Contribute to quality improvement activities, inspections and the ongoing development of training provision.
