Job summary

Veritas Education Recruitment is seeking a dedicated Maths Teacher to join an Alternative Provision in Bury for ages 11-16. The role is full-time and temporary-to-permanent, with responsibilities across KS3–KS4 and a focus on engaging, inclusive math education.

You will plan, deliver and adapt lessons while supporting students to rebuild confidence and achieve GCSE readiness. The ideal candidate holds QTS, has secondary maths experience, and can differentiate to meet varied needs, including

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
• Experience teaching Maths at secondary level (KS3–KS4).
• Ability to differentiate lessons for diverse abilities.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging Maths lessons across KS3–KS4.
• Adapt teaching to meet individual student needs and abilities.
• Support students to develop numeracy, problem-solving and reasoning.
• Prepare students for GCSE Maths where appropriate.
• Create a safe, structured learning environment and manage behaviour.
• Assess progress, identify gaps and provide feedback.
• Build positive relationships to encourage participation and resilience.
• Collaborate with teaching assistants and pastoral teams.
