Job summary

Teaching Personnel is seeking Learning Support Assistants for secondary schools in Durham. This long-term posting starts ASAP and offers stable, supportive environments where your work makes a visible difference to student outcomes.

You will support students with a range of additional needs across KS3 and KS4, delivering 1:1 and small group interventions, assisting teachers with differentiated delivery, and helping learners build independence and confidence in their studies.

Qualifications

• Experience in a secondary school setting
• Solid understanding of SEND in the classroom
• Patient, reliable, and confident building relationships with complex learners
• Level 3 qualification desirable but not essential with relevant experience
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small group interventions
• Support students with additional needs across KS3 and KS4
• Assist teachers with classroom management and differentiated delivery
• Help students develop independence and confidence in learning
• Liaise with the SENCO and wider support team as required
