Job summary

St Michael's Catholic School is seeking a dedicated teaching assistant to support pupils with diverse needs within the classroom. You will assist with planning, prepare materials, and support individual and group activities to enable access to the curriculum.

Under the guidance of the class teacher and SENDCo, you will help monitor progress, contribute to displays, and participate in training to develop skills while promoting a positive school environment.

Responsibilities

• To assist with planning, organising and supervising educational visits and outings.
• To prepare classroom and associated areas for use including materials and displays.
• To support individuals or groups of children on activities such as reading, writing, practical, creative, physical and environmental studies.
• To provide feedback about pupils' difficulties and progress to the class teacher and SENDCo / Inclusion Co-ordinator.
• To supervise children during classroom settings, assemblies, play times and outings, and adapt lessons as needed.
• To administer basic care/first aid and ensure health and safety regulations are followed.
