Zusammenfassung

Portland Charity is seeking a Learning Support Assistant to work with learners, helping them achieve goals and develop independence. You will work Monday–Friday, 9:00am–4:30pm (up to 35 hours per week) and provide practical, individualised support within a multidisciplinary team.

Applicants should have Level 2 English and Maths and empathy for people with disabilities. A DBS check and safeguarding responsibilities are part of the role, with benefits and opportunities for training and development.

Qualifikationen

• Empathy for people with disabilities and a genuine desire to empower learners.
• Ability to remain calm in challenging situations.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Aufgaben

• Support individuals and groups with learning, care, therapy and wellbeing needs.
• Facilitate learning activities under tutors and managers.
• Help monitor and record progress against targets.
• Assist with personal care, meals and breaks while promoting dignity.
• Support learners with health needs and emergency medication per guidelines.
• Collaborate with tutors, therapists and support teams to identify learner needs.
• Support learners during behaviours that challenge using learned strategies.
• Support learners during internal and external work experience.
