Job summary

Houstone School is seeking a Learning Mentor - Pastoral and Behaviour Specialist to support pupils with social, emotional, or mental health needs and to respond to behavioural incidents during school hours. You will administer behaviour systems and develop intervention programmes in line with the school’s high-expectation ethos.

Qualifications

• Recent and effective experience of tutoring/mentoring pupils with challenging behaviours.
• Experience of working with SEND and EAL.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
• Experience of safeguarding and safeguarding procedures.
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to multitask.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one or group support to pupils with Social, Emotional or Mental Health Needs.
• Provide on-call support to respond to behavioural incidents and welfare concerns during school hours.
• Administer and organise behaviour systems within school (e.g. daily corrections and behaviour points).
• Oversee and carry out behaviour intervention programmes aligned with Houstone's ethos of high expectations.
