Job summary

Harlow Council is seeking a Housing Officer (Fire Safety) to lead fire safety across the town. The role is 37.5 hours per week with Dynamic Working; office-based but with most staff attending four days a week and some after-hours work.

You will manage breaches of tenancy related to fire safety, ensure recommendations are completed on schedule, work with the Fire Service to reduce risk at council properties, provide practical fire-safety guidance, and maintain high customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Experience working in housing or fire safety is preferred.
• Able to respond to emergencies and work flexible hours.
• Driving licence and access to a vehicle is required.

Responsibilities

• Manage breaches of tenancy conditions relating to fire safety issues.
• Ensure fire safety recommendations are completed within agreed timescales.
• Work closely with the Fire Service to reduce the risk of fire at council owned properties.
• Provide advice and assistance on fire safety matters.
• Ensure service standards and high levels of customer satisfaction are achieved.
