Job summary

The Shaw Education Trust is seeking a Cover Supervisor to join Tottington High School on a full-time basis. You will supervise classes in the absence of their usual teacher, deliver pre-prepared work, and maintain pupil engagement and good behaviour throughout lessons.

Applicants with school or educational experience are preferred, but transferable skills and a genuine commitment to pupil support are welcome.

• Supervise classes in the absence of their usual teacher.
• Maintain pupil engagement and discipline during lessons.
• Provide support to pupils and promote safeguarding.

Responsibilities

• Supervise classes in the absence of their usual teacher.
• Deliver lessons and activities using work and resources provided by teaching staff.
• Ensure pupils remain engaged with the learning and complete the set work.
• Maintain a positive, calm and purposeful learning environment.
• Manage behaviour in line with school policies and procedures.
• Provide appropriate support and encouragement to pupils.
• Report issues to relevant staff and contribute to the school community.
• Support the wider life of the school and uphold safeguarding expectations.
